As of September 16, 2026, no credible news organization has reported that President Donald Trump was shot at the White House, in Washington, D.C., or anywhere else in recent days. Sensational YouTube titles and social-media posts claiming he was “shot again” are not evidence. Videos can be uploaded by anyone; dramatic wording is often used to generate clicks. Without confirmation from outlets such as AP, Reuters, BBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, or official statements from the Secret Service or White House, those claims should be treated as unverified or fabricated.
The only confirmed incident in which Trump himself was struck by a bullet remains the July 13, 2024, assassination attempt at a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania. Thomas Matthew Crooks fired eight shots from an AR-style rifle on a nearby rooftop. One round grazed Trump’s right ear. A spectator, Corey Comperatore, was killed and two others were wounded. Secret Service counter-snipers killed Crooks within seconds. Trump was treated and released the same day. Newly released FBI documents in September 2026 have added details about Crooks’s shooting practice and background, but they do not change the established facts of that single event.
Later security incidents have been widely misrepresented online. In September 2024 a man with a rifle was spotted in the bushes at Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club; an agent fired and the suspect fled. Trump was unharmed. In April 2026 gunfire interrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner; Trump and other officials were evacuated and no one in the presidential party was hit. On May 23, 2026, a gunman identified as Nasire Best opened fire at a Secret Service checkpoint near the White House. Officers returned fire and killed him. A bystander was wounded. Trump was inside the White House at the time and was not injured. He publicly thanked the Secret Service.
None of these events involved Trump being shot. Confusion spreads when old footage, unrelated shootings near government buildings, or clickbait titles are presented as breaking news. Always check primary reporting from established wire services and official briefings before accepting viral claims. As of this writing, President Trump has not been shot again.
