BREAKING: White House Physician Releases an Update on Trump’s Health — Here’s What We Know…

President Trump Remains in Excellent Health and Fully Fit for Office, White House Medical Report Says

President Donald Trump is in “excellent health” and remains fully fit to carry out the duties of commander in chief, according to an official medical report released Friday following a comprehensive examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The report, prepared by Dr. Sean Barbabella, detailed an extensive series of evaluations conducted by a team of 22 medical specialists. These included a CT scan, advanced cardiac imaging, cancer screenings, and a range of preventative health assessments. Barbabella concluded that Trump’s physical and cognitive performance are excellent and that he is fully capable of meeting the demands of the presidency.

At the time of the examination, Trump weighed 238 pounds, an increase of 14 pounds from his April 2025 physical. Standing 6 feet, 3 inches tall, his body mass index was measured at 29.7. Medical guidelines generally classify a BMI of 30 or higher as obese, placing the president just below that threshold. Physicians recommended attention to diet, physical activity, and weight management while emphasizing that he remains in strong overall health.

The report also noted bruising on Trump’s hands, which Barbabella attributed to “minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking.” He described the condition as “a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy” and recommended a switch to low-dose aspirin. Among Trump’s medications are two cholesterol-lowering drugs and aspirin.

Last year, the White House disclosed that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, an age-related condition in which blood pools in the legs and can cause swelling. During this year’s examination, slight lower-leg swelling was still present, but Barbabella noted that the condition has improved since the previous assessment. The physician reported strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical health, with no abnormal findings identified during the evaluation.

“His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being,” Barbabella wrote in the report.

Trump also completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a widely used screening tool for cognitive impairment and dementia. He scored a perfect 30 out of 30, matching results from examinations in 2025 and 2018. The report stated that his “cognitive and physical performance are excellent” and reaffirmed that he is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”

Significant improvement was noted in Trump’s cholesterol levels. His total cholesterol measured 143, down sharply from 223 in 2018. Doctors attributed the change in part to rosuvastatin, which lowers LDL (“bad”) cholesterol while raising HDL (“good”) cholesterol, and ezetimibe, which further reduces LDL levels.

The examination, which Trump described as a comprehensive physical, was the fourth publicly disclosed medical evaluation since he returned to office for his second term. The release comes as the administration seeks to demonstrate the president’s fitness heading into a critical midterm election cycle. Presidential health disclosures have long drawn public interest, though there is no legal requirement that presidents release complete medical records.

Trump, who turns 80 next month, was the oldest person ever elected president at the time of his election. His predecessor, President Joe Biden, left office at age 82 after ending his 2024 reelection campaign amid widespread concerns about his age and fitness for another term. Biden’s performance in his sole debate against Trump in June 2024 prompted many observers to cite signs of cognitive decline; he withdrew from the race shortly afterward and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

The latest report underscores Barbabella’s assessment that Trump’s health remains strong across major systems and that he continues to meet the physical and cognitive requirements of the office.
