No trustworthy news organization is reporting that President Donald Trump has been shot in Washington, D.C., at the White House, or anywhere else in recent hours or today. Major outlets including the Associated Press, BBC, Reuters, PBS, CBS News, and The Washington Post have published no such reports. Claims circulating on social media and video platforms therefore lack any corroboration from established journalism.
Videos on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and X can be uploaded by anyone. Creators frequently use dramatic or alarming titles such as “President Donald Trump Shot AGAIN” to attract views. A title alone is not evidence of an event. Without confirmation from official sources or credible news organizations, such material should be treated as unverified and potentially fabricated or misleading.
The only confirmed shooting involving Trump in recent years occurred in July 2024 at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A gunman positioned on a nearby rooftop opened fire with an AR-style rifle. The Secret Service quickly neutralized the shooter at the scene. Trump was struck by a bullet that grazed his ear; he was evaluated by medical personnel, treated, and released from the hospital shortly afterward. No subsequent credible reporting has indicated that he has been shot again.
Confusion has also arisen from unrelated incidents. In September 2024, for example, gunshots were reported near one of Trump’s golf clubs in Florida. Secret Service agents responded rapidly, but Trump himself was not injured in that episode. Online posts have sometimes stripped away these distinctions and presented older or separate events as fresh attacks.
In an environment where information spreads rapidly, sensational claims about public figures require careful verification. Dramatic video titles and social-media posts do not substitute for reporting from established news organizations that employ professional standards of confirmation. At present, those organizations are not reporting any new shooting of President Trump.
